AE&E believes innovation is the key for sustainable development, and continues to invest in R&D programs.

AE&E has established standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for quality control and environmental correction of field samples for e.g. salinity and hyper-acid or alkaline conditions.

The company has developed a Microbial Quick-screening Analysis (MQS) which allows on-site, quick evaluation (<48 hours) of reconnaissance or sparse samples to make ‘real-time’ in-fielddecisions for further survey optimization and infill, saving time and adding value. AE&E also developed Environmental Correction Technologies to reduce environmental influences such as salinity on microbial result. Those technologies have been successfully applied in many projects domestically and overseas.

The molecular biology lab is equipped with cutting edge Gene-chip (DNA) platform based on microfluorescence scanning, which is able to perform gene probe design, sample preparation and data analysis. AE&E has invented the world’s first Geo-microbial gene-chip; 12 related Chinese patents are filed and 8 were granted.

AE&E has established research cooperation not only with overseas top facilities, but also different Chinese universities and companies on various research programs. The schools and companies include Tsinghua University, China Petroleum University, China Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Geochemical Research Institute, China Geosciences University, Yangtzi University, Landocean Energy Services Co. and the famous BGP International group. It also has access to laboratory facilities based in US and several associated consultants and subject matter experts globally.

Recent AE&E R&D programs have won a few competitive government grants. In 2009, the 4th generation molecular microbial exploration technology research program was funded by China Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation Fund. By 2010, series of patented technologies were developed and applied in field with successful results. In 2011, the MGCE trap evaluation technique research project was funded by National Petroleum Key Project. In 2012, a gas hydrates exploration technology research project was supported by National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863 plans) by China Ministry of Science and Technology.

AE&E is committed to continuously excel itself and become the front runner in maximizing geo-microbial technologies’ economic value to its highest potential, and bring value to its shareholders, employees as well as society, petroleum industry and researchers at large.

The company’s mission and vision are to further grow internationally and to become a globally recognized service provider, leading by example in the emerging Geo-Biotechnology industry.
